Scott Heads For National Youth Theatre

16 year old Scott Minnis, a student at Chasetown Specialist Sports College, auditioned alongside 4000 other hopefuls this year and is one of only 600 young actors to be selected to attend the London-based National Youth Theatre summer workshop.

Fresh from his recent exploits as Nathan Detroit in the school’s production of Guys and Dolls, Scott is currently letting the news sink in enjoying the remaining weeks of his GCSE Drama studies.

Headteacher Ms Astling said

“The 13 day course will allow Scott to work alongside professional actors, hone his dramatic skills and to work creatively with his peers. However, whilst nothing can dampen his enthusiasm for the opportunity, the reality of the situation has set in; family and staff at the school are currently facing the challenge of raising the sufficient funds Scott needs to attend the course in August”.
