Sixth Form Showcase
On Thursday 26th November, we held our Sixth Form Showcase event. This was extremely well attended by students in our current Year 11 as well as by students from neighbouring schools. After presentations in the theatre, prospective Sixth Form students were able to find out about the specific courses on offer. They were able to speak to subject staff and our current Sixth Form students also informed them about life in the Sixth Form. We are very proud of our Sixth Form students at Chasetown and we thank them for their excellent contribution to our school community. They now enjoy a smart new refurbished Sixth Form Centre with a common room and a study area. Students do well in our Sixth Form: in 2009 there was 99% pass rate at A-Level and 100% success rate for those students who sought a university place. Three students gained an amazing 4 x A grades at A-Level. We are also deighted to report that two of our students gained places at medical school and two others gained places to study Mathematics at prestigious universities. Applications are now being taken for the Sixth Form. Students can apply on line via the College website and applications should be returned to Mrs R Davies, Director of 14-19 Studies. In the Spring term, propspective Sixth Form students will be intvited to an interview to discuss their future courses.
A Level Success
Students at Chasetown are celebrating their very successful A-Level examination results. Results have improved once again with an overall pass rate of 99% .
Special mention must go to Bethany Nancarrow, David Burston and Naomi Smith who all got 4 'A's at A Level.
Headtecher, Bernice Astling, said 'I am delighted with our A-Level results, which are a credit to the hard work of our students and staff'.
A big well done to everyone, you have all worked really hard and students and staff at Chasetown would like to wish you all lots of success in your future plans.
