Community

As a Sports College we aim to work in partnership with our secondary partner school Chase Terrace Technology College, and our Primary partner schools of Fulfen, Ridgeway and Springhill, helping them to develop where possible their PE and School Sport opportunities and provision, through the sharing of ideas and information related to PE and Sport.
We also have strong links with sports clubs in our district, aiming to support these local clubs and provide exit routes for our students into sports participation in the local community. We have worked predominantly with Chasetown Football Club, Burntwood Rugby Club and Hammerwich Cricket Club. We have also been working with a number of other local clubs to help them work towards achieving their Clubmark Status. Chasetown Specialist Sports College recently received the FA Charter mark award for Staffordshire 2008, in recognition of the development work in football.
In our wider community we have strong links with Lichfield District Council’s Sports Development team, and we work in partnership with them to help the development of PE and Sport across the Burntwood and Lichfield area. Included in this area is the work with Positive Futures, who strive to develop opportunities for a target group of youngsters in Burntwood.
Chasetown Specialist Sports College is also looking to further develop links with local businesses for the mutual benefit and development of both organisations.
Finally we are fully engaged in the Community and Learning Partnership programme for the Burntwood area, linking into a variety of external agencies in order to achieve wider partnership involvement across the district.
